JKSET/LASET 2024 Notification

The State Eligibility Test (JKSET/LASET-2024) is scheduled for October 20, 2024, and will determine the eligibility of candidates for the role of Assistant Professor in the Universities and Colleges of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. The University of Jammu, the nodal agency, will conduct the test across three main centers: Jammu, Srinagar, and Leh, covering 41 subjects.

JKSET Eligibility Criteria 2024

Academic Qualifications

  • General Candidates: Must have secured at least 55% marks in their Master’s Degree or equivalent from universities recognized by the UGC.
  • Reserved Categories (SC/ST/PwD): Must have secured at least 50% marks.
  • Ph.D. Holders: Those who completed their Master’s by September 19, 1991, are eligible for a relaxation of 5%.

Additional Notes

  • Candidates appearing for their Master’s final year exams can also apply provisionally.
  • The subject for the JKSET must be the same as the candidate’s post-graduation subject.
  • Foreign degree holders should get their degrees evaluated for equivalence by the Association of Indian Universities.

Fees must be paid online using a credit card, debit card, or net banking.

Visually impaired candidates will receive compensatory time and may use a scribe. Other physically handicapped candidates who cannot write by themselves can also request the use of a scribe.

How to Apply for JKSET/LASET 2024?

Step-by-Step Application Process

  1. Visit Official Website: Go to www.jammuuniversity.ac.in or www.jujkset.in.
  2. Payment: Select the appropriate category and pay the examination fee online. Note down the transaction reference number.
  3. Register: Register using the transaction reference number and create a password. Upload a recent photograph and signature.
  4. Fill Application Form: Complete the form with personal, contact, and academic details. Preview the form before submitting.
  5. Print Application: After submitting, print the application form for future reference.

If you encounter any issues with fee reconciliation, contact the helpdesk within three days after the last date of application submission.


What Documents Are Required During the Application Process?

You don’t need to submit any documents during the online application. However, if you qualify, you must submit attested copies of eligibility and category-related documents for verification.

What Happens If I Make an Error in My Application?

A correction window will be available from July 13 to July 15, 2024. Ensure you make all necessary corrections within this period as no requests will be entertained afterward.

Can I Change My Examination Center?

No, once you have selected an examination center, it cannot be changed under any circumstances.

What If I Don’t Meet the Eligibility Criteria?

Candidates must ensure they meet the eligibility criteria before applying. If any ineligibility is detected at any stage, the candidature will be canceled, and the candidate will face legal action.

How Will I Know If I Have Qualified?
